Loose Dog Report—01/15/10
Going home, about mile 5.5 Lake Road, 6pm—a truck drove southbound slowly, usually an indicator that there is a loose dog nearby. But there wasn’t, not until about 1/4 mile further north. Looked like a dark, longish coated breed. The only way I saw it (it was dark) was because of movement, not anything else. The dog blended in with the dark surroundings and was a perfect target for a moving vehicle. It was running southbound, trying to keep up with the truck. I think this is the same duo I saw months ago at mile 4, in the northbound lane. The truck driver stopped the truck, let the dog out, then drove northbound with the dog loose on the road. I called DPS then. Perhaps DPS told the driver to take this activity out of the city limits, so they moved northward. The truck driver could absolutely not see the dog behind him and could not tell where the dog was.
